Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This document outlines key terms, conditions, insurance information, associated charges, and your obligations for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To rent a vehicle, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although this may vary depending on the vehicle type. Those under 25 may incur extra fees. A valid driving license, suitable for the vehicle category and held for the minimum period stated in the Rental Agreement, is required. Valid identification and proof of current address must be presented, along with payment details and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Dartford office. A deposit might be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are generally payable upon collecting the vehicle. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include applicable VAT. Payments are securely processed through recognized providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, a comprehensive inspection of the vehicle is required to identify and report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both parties. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was collected, subject to normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and applicable charges will be applied. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as when it was collected; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. If you anticipate returning the vehicle late, please notify us as soon as possible, as late returns may incur additional fees. You are responsible for any parking tickets, traffic fines, or charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. The specifics of coverage and any excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Options for additional insurance may be offered to lower your financial exposure. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for damages or losses up to the insurance excess unless additional coverage is secured. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will be your responsibility, regardless of insurance status.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-road driving, or other dangerous pursuits. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting to unauthorized individuals is prohibited. Operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Ensure that usage complies with designated passenger and weight limits, and refrain from driving outside agreed geographical boundaries without prior permission.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount you paid for your rental in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
Governing Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
